Happy 18 months Maddie!!

Today this sweet little face is 18 months old!

I can't even begin to describe how quickly this past year and a half has gone by!! She is constantly changing and showing us her little personality everyday!
Here are some of the things she is up to at 18 months...
Maddie is wearing 12-18 month clothing and size 3 diapers. She is quite the petite little thing!
She can say lots of words and sometimes phrases. You always have to be listening because you never know when she is going to say something. She is the complete opposite of her brother, who would do "tricks" on demand. It all has to be Maddie's idea.

Some of the things she can say besides names of family members are mine, waffle, dink( drink), milk, tottart( pop tart), uh oh, no, yea( this might be one of her most frequent words), and here ya go. I know I'm forgetting some. Just about everyday she is saying something new!
Maddie always gets her point across either using words, pointing or sometimes by throwing fits.
Lately she has grown into a daddy's girl. Every time he comes home she wants a hug and loves to talk on the phone with him! She especially loves her bubba and I'm positive the feeling is mutual. They have really started playing very well together and Mason is always watching out for her.
Maddie also loves to eat! She will eat almost anything we put in front of her. She is always asking for a nack(snack).
Here she's eating a waffle in one hand and a bite of her brother's pop tart in the other hand.

Maddie is definitely not the best sleeper. She usually goes down in her crib without any fuss but always wakes up sometime after 11 and doesn't want to go back to sleep in her bed. She ends up sleeping with us. I'm such a sucker!
Maddie is very smart! She understands so much, I don't know why I'm always so surprised when she does something I asked her to do. She is a good helper at picking up her toys, especially when you sing the clean up song.
Maddie loves to sing and dance. She will try to join in on the abc's and always sings the e I e I o part of oh McDonald.
Maddie is very animated and I just eat it up! She will cheese it up for the camera almost every time!

Overall Maddie is such a joy and blessing to us!! I am so thankful for her and the happiness she brings to our family. I love that little girl so much!!

Mason's First T-ball Game

We had the best time watching Mason's first t-ball game.  He has had a few since then but Nini took her awesome camera to the first game and I wanted to post some of the pictures.  Mason did so awesome.  He did so good paying attention and listening to his coaches!  The Y does not keep score so we don't officially know who won, but i'm pretty sure we won that game!!

Mason warming up.

Daddy helps out on the field.
Mason's personal fanclub! I think we had the largest crowd.
He gave us thumbs up when he got on first base.
 Proud sister!
Mason and his buddy Curtis(from school) being silly in the field!
Mason batting left-handed, but he also bats right handed.

Running home.... his daddy sticks his tongue out when he is concentrating too. I guess it is hereditary.
And he scores!!!
GO RANGERS!!!

Mason's first Bike

We have tried and tried to get Mason to sleep in his own bed all night. So after many failed attempts with various consequences we decided to try bribery. We promised Mason 10 bucks a day for a whole week if he would stay in his bed. At the end of the week he would have enough money to buy his own bike. Boy was he excited about this offer!! He didn't fuss one bit all week about bedtime or staying in bed. He did AWESOME!!!

Mark had a special bike already picked out and we had to special order from Wal- Mart. It looks just like his daddy's dirt bike.

Mason's first t- ball practice

Mason had his first t-ball practice yesterday and he had a blast. He did such an awesome job of listening and doing what the coach said. It was very hot but he toughed it out the whole hour. I think he is the youngest on his team and he was one of the better players. I'm only a little biased! It was very amusing to watch and I look forward to watching them get better as the season goes! Here a few pics from practice.

Mason running the bases and Mark cheering him on.

Mason got a chance to bat. He hit a couple pretty well and hit the t a few times too.

Mason is standing close to short stop position waiting to field the ball.

I'm plan to take my real camera today and get some better shots. We are hoping the rain holds off til later. If not I'm going to have one very upset t-ball player!!

Maddie discovered her shadow

Last night Maddie discovered her shadow! I kept noticing Maddie looking on the ground and then she would stop and let out a whimper of frustration. I finally realized she was seeing her shadow.

She did not like the fact that something was following her!

Here is a little video of her trying to get away from it. She was seriously cracking me up!

Here and there

Saturday morning I decided that we would make a surprise visit to the fire station to see daddy. We don't get to go very often since it is so far from the house. Mason has been asking Mark alot of questions about the fire station lately, like where he keeps his gear and random stuff like that. This was a good day for us to go since we had no plans.
Here is Daddy answering the thousand questions Mason had for him! Oh and Mason just had to wear his bunker gear to the fire station!

Rare family photo!

After we left the fire station we headed to my mom's for an impromptu swim party!
Maddie didn't really care too much for this float! She wanted to be out on her own.

She loved the water!

Mason and Mikayla swimming there little hearts out! They had a blast together!

Sunday after church was spent resting and visiting with Nana and Pops.
Mason was so sweet and offered to vacuum the rug for me!

Maddie girl was absolutely exhausted! Her and Mason were watching tv and I found her like this...

She had fallen asleep leaning up against the couch. I would have maybe left her except it was 5 o'clock and I wanted her to sleep that night. Luckily she had no trouble going to bed later that night!

Mother's Day 2012

I woke up Mother's day to Mason asking if it was indeed Mother's Day. When I said yes he quickly responded with " happy Mother's day!" He then told me he had to go get my cards because they were hidden in his room. One was from daddy, he had to work so he helped Mason hide the cards and coached him on what to tell me the next morning. It was really sweet. Then while my mom was making breakfast Mason gave me a back rub. That was the sweetest thing he did all day!
After church my mom and I took the kids to the park for a picnic.

The rest of the day we did a whole lot of nothing. After I finally got Maddie to bed I was skyping with Shana when Mason decided he wanted to jump on the bed. I repeatedly told him to stop then all of a sudden I hear a thud and Mason screaming. He had hit his head on the nightstand. I was so scared but luckily there was no blood, so no need for stitches but he has quite the bruise. So Mason now understands why the doctor says "no more monkeys jumping on the bed!"
