Christmas part 2

Our Third Christmas party was at my moms house. My mom surprised us with a little scene from the Christmas story. She had Mason and Maddie dress up as Mary and Joseph and Mikayla was the Angel. They were so adorable and did so good!

Baby Jesus was under the Christmas tree and it was Mason's job to get him when my mom read a certain verse. My mom read the same verse like three times and Mason was totally oblivious and then Maddie reached over Mason and got baby Jesus out from under the tree and wrapped him in the blanket. It was so funny!

Mason was so excited to get a drum set from Zuzu. He was even asking her at 7:30 the next morning if she wanted to play music together.

Maddie enjoyed it too!

Christmas part 1

We had so many different Christmas party's this year so I'm going to break them up into several different posts.
Our first Christmas celebration was with my dad. He took us all out to dinner in Grapevine and then we strolled down Main Street to see all the beautiful lights.

Grandpa Larry and the grand kids

Our second Christmas party was with the Douglas side of the family. We gathered at nana and pops house and ate and opened presents.

I didn't get many pictures at that party but we had a great time hanging with the family!

Maddie's 2nd Birthday Party

We had a little party for Maddie's 2nd birthday and the theme was bumblebees. We had pizza and adorable bee hive cupcakes. Maddie was looking extra adorable in a bee costume.

Happy Birthday Maddie!!

Today Maddie is 2 years old!! She is quickly leaving her baby days and running into big girl mode! She is talking so much, although sometimes it is a little hard to understand. She is so full of personality and we absolutely adore her. She is very strong willed and has no problem telling you how she feels or what she wants. She can also be the sweetest little girl ever, giving big hugs and kisses and always making sure you are ok if you get hurt. She loves to sing!! Her favorites are twinkle twinkle, itsy bitsy spider, bumblebee song, and wheels on the bus. She can count to ten by herself and does a pretty good job at singing her abc's.
Today we had a little celebration and went to Waco. We had lunch at chipotle!

Then went to play a few games at Chuck E Cheese.

We let her open the presents from us.

Bubba was so excited for her to open his gift because he spent his own money and went to the store to pick it out with daddy. He picked out Barney movies. Barney is Maddie's favorite!

We got her a toy vacuum.

Happy Birthday Maddie!! We love you so much!

Christmas Cookies

Another Christmas tradition that we have around here is to make cookies and decorate them. We always did this as kids with my mom and I knew I wanted to continue the tradition with my kids.
I would love to tell you that this was such a smooth and fun filled process, but that would be a lie. Homemade cookies are not my specialty by any means. It was a mess!! But in the end we had a few turn out and they actually tasted good. Hopefully the kids don't remember the stress involved! Next year I will definitely be using a store bought mix so I can enjoy this tradition!

Momma wasn't doing it right, so daddy had to get involved.

Maddie sat there and ate the dough when she thought we weren't looking and played in the flour.

Visiting Santa

Saturday we decided to continue the tradition of seeing Santa at Bass Pro Shop.
We started off with lunch at Bennihanas!
Maddie loved it!

The boys eating with chopsticks.

Next we headed on over to see Santa! Zuzu was awesome and got us a pass before lunch, so we didn't have to wait 2 hours like last year!

Talking with Mrs. Clause before Santa

At this point I really thought Maddie was going to sit with Santa, but when we actually got up there she refused! So it turned into a family photo.

Mason is a pro at this by now...

After the picture, we walked around to see all the fun stuff to do.
Maddie found a good hiding place.

We also took a ride on the carousel before leaving.

We weren't ready for the fun to end so we went to get ice cream!

And then we went to the "best park ever" says daddy!

I think daddy had more fun than the kiddos!

I love making memories with my family!!
