Maddie gets a haircut

I have put off getting Maddie a haircut because I was afraid of losing her curls, but her hair was getting unmanageable. She was so excited and was so good the entire time.

Before...

Trying to comb through all the tangles was not fun, but she took it like a big girl.

After... Mason also got a haircut.

She cut off about 2 inches and trimmed her bangs. The bangs got botched a little short, but luckily they grow fast. Her hair feels so much better now!!!

The greatest show on earth...

Saturday my mom treated us all to the circus. Mason really loved the show and talked about it for days. Maddie didn't really know what to think. She said she was scared of the Tigers. Which I don't blame her. The tigers seemed really aggressive, clawing and snapping at the trainer. At one point I thought we were about to witness him getting an a bitten off. But anyway I think she enjoyed some parts of the show, but it may have been a little too much for her at this age.

They got to try on the clown costumes. Maddie loved that part.

Mark had more snacks than the kids did...

Zulu with Mason

Mikayla, Shana and Maddie

Enjoying a snow cone. Thanks Aunt Shana!!

Just missing Erin. Although I'm sure she was having way more fun on her cruise!!

Thanks Zuzu for a great time!! We loved it and loved spending the evening with you!!

More summer fun

Here are some random photos taken over the past few weeks.

Met mom and Erin for lunch and a trip to Chuck E Cheese

Posing like Mike Wazousky

Maddie being a silly super hero

Took a random trip to Canton with mom and the kids.

The kids got some new shades.

The kids started a new school. This was taken on their first day.

Mason playing fireman. The bucket is his air pack. He came up with that all on his own.

Skipped church one week and had a little service at home. Mason was leading us in some songs and Maddie was doing an interpretive dance. Haha it was sweet.

Took the kids to Magic Time Machine. It wasn't as great as I remember, but Mason said he had fun!

They came by and took our picture and of course we had to buy it.

I laugh so hard every time I see this picture!!

Swim Lessons

This summer we signed both the kiddos up for swim lessons at the Y. Maddie was enrolled in the parent child class. Daddy got in with all the moms on the first day.
It was quite comical watching them. Lucky for me Mason's teacher saw how well Maddie liked the water and let her move up to his class the next day.

They were all ages 3-5

Mason was definitely the bravest in the class. He yelled cannonball almost every time he jumped in the water.

On the last day Mason was jumping in without a noodle and could swim to the side. He had a little help hear and there, but for the most part did it on his own. He still needs lots of practice but so glad he's almost got it.

Maddie seemed to regress as the class went on. Some days she didn't even want to get in the water. Her big accomplishment was being able to stick her face under water and blow bubbles with her mouth and nose. Maybe next summer we can actually work on the swimming part with her.

One class day was devoted to boat safety. They taught them what to do if they fell off a boat. This was one of the days where Maddie refused to get in the water.

Take me out to the ball game....

In July we took the kids to their first Rangers game. We had so much fun!

Walking up to the stadium Maddie got really excited because she thought it was a castle.

We had pretty good seats in the outfield.

We enjoyed plenty of snacks.

Maddie enjoyed the constant clapping and cheering!

Mason just wanted cotton candy.
And a ball to catch.

They had just about enough fun in the eighth inning so we headed home. The Rangers lost the game but we had a blast anyway!

Good bye Papi

Before we moved Maddie was almost papi free. She would take it only at night and nap time. After the move she wanted it constantly. I let her have it for a few months to help her ease into her new atmosphere and I just didn't have the energy to fight her. So a few weeks ago we decided it was time to get rid if it for good. We took her to build a bear and let her pick out a special bear.

She then put her papi inside the bear. She was really excited about being a big girl( at this point).

They washed her.

Then picked out a pretty Cinderella dress for her.

She was all smiles in the mall.

When we got in the car and headed home she had a meltdown and starting undressing her bear thinking she could get to her papi. She finally calmed down but I worried about finding the bear in pieces later and a papi in her mouth. :)

Needless to say its been a few weeks and the bear is still in one piece and we are 100 percent papi free!! It feels good not to constantly worry about losing them. The only downside is that Maddie has not been sleeping very good, most nights she refuses to sleep in her room. Hopefully a few more weeks and we will be back to normal. Hopefully!!!

Random Summer Fun

We have enjoyed so many fun things this summer!
Mason went to Zuzu camp for a week.

He had a blast!

Maddie got to crash the last day and even got her own t-shirt. She was so excited about that!

We had VBS at church.

We went to Medieval Times with the whole family.

Took the kids to see Monsters U.
I left the building soaked because of this little girl. :)

And we have done lots of swimming and playing in the water.
