Maddie's 13 month post

Well I'm a few days late but I wanted to document what Miss Maddie has been up to the past month.

Maddie is a serious walker now. She walks just about everywhere now and just occasionally crawls.
She is also starting to talk more. She can say mama, dada, bubba, bye-bye, papi and hi. She says those words consistently. She is trying to say more words like drink, she calls dink. It is so precious. She has also been known to say someone's name and point at them, like Jacque and Zuzu but we can't get her to repeat them. It has to be her idea!

She loves to clap her hands and she can now blow kisses. She also knows where her belly button is.
Maddie has been sleeping so much better this month. It has been wonderful. She has been going to bed without a fuss around seven and usually wakes between four and five. On a really good night she sleeps later. Most days when she wakes up early she will go back to sleep in our bed.
Maddie got some new teeth this month!! She now has four front bottom teeth and two of her top molars have poked through. She still does not have any front top teeth but her poor gums are so swollen right now, so I'm sure they are coming soon.

It is so wonderful to see her learning new things everyday and I am trying to eat up every second of this fun age!!

Pajama Party!!

As I was getting Maddie's pjs on after dinner, Mason came up with the idea to have a pajama party. I said ok not knowing what exactly he had in mind, but I got lucky because his idea of a pj party was to cook in Maddie's room. They are playing so well together right now and I'm just soaking it in!!

Maddie was really saying cheese when I snapped this picture. She is really starting to say more words and it's so cute!!

Beautiful Day

We spent a little time outside before dinner enjoying this 70 degree January day.
Mason loves his new 4 wheeler.

He was sweet enough to give little sister a ride. Maddie loved it!!

They both shared lots of giggles while taking turns on the swing.

Wish every winter day could be this beautiful!!

Mohawks

So as you all know Mark is responsible for cutting Mason's hair. I was busy cleaning up around the house and I went into the bathroom to discover this....

And this....

I got a good laugh out of both and then said fix it. Mason desperately wanted to keep his but it was still a no. I would rather he be bald then have a Mohawk, but it was definitely a good laugh!

Mason's First Dentist Visit

I have been putting Mason's first dental appointment off for a long time because I honestly thought he would freak out. Six months ago this was probably true but now he doesn't seem to mind brushing so I thought he was ready. He was a little nervous at first but after his Aunt Shawn, who works there, showed him around he seemed a little less on edge. Mason did so great during his cleaning. He sat in the chair like such a big boy and did everything the hygienist asked.

She counted all his teeth, polished them with the spinning brush and scraped a little tarter off. It was such a proud momma moment. He didn't complain one bit.

Hopefully we can keep having good experiences like this one, so he won't be scared to go back.
We rewarded him by going to Chuck E Cheese for lunch. We are such suckers!

Catch up....

I am way behind on blogging these days so here is a little bit of catch up. My mom has my camera so these are all from my phone.

Here are a few pics from Christmas morning. Mason was surprisingly patient while we waited for daddy to come home from work. I did let him open his stocking.

Here are the kids with there unopened gifts from Santa. Mason touched his and it started talking. His face lit up and he said "Santa got me a Bumblebee!". Oops. Santa should probably not put batteries in next time.

The week after Christmas we spent a few days at my mom's house. One day we took Both kids to an early showing of Alvin and the Chipmunks. Mason loved it and Maddie slept.

We also went to a park that had this huge spiderweb that you could climb in. Mason absolutely loved it!!

Next we thought we would get out of the wind so we headed to Let's Jump. Mason and I and Zuzu all played on the many bounce houses. It was quite exhausting but again Mason loved it!

Up next is Mason's First Dentist Experience!!

Maddie's 12 month post

Where oh where has my little baby gone?!?! Well she if officially a toddler and I seriously can't wrap my head around that.  I remember her being born like it was yesterday.  I can't believe how much she has changed in the past year.  While I'm wrapping my head around that here is what Maddie girl has been up to the past month and some pictures from the past year.

Maddie is getting close to 20 pounds.  I'll have exact height and weight tomorrow.  She is wearing 12 month clothing, size 3 shoes and size 3 diapers.
She is eating basically everything we eat.  She has started drinking whole milk but is not completely transition over from formula.  She is drinking 6 to 10 ounces of formula still.  Although as soon as this can is out I think we are going to call it quits.

Maddie has her two bottom teeth.  Teething has been a real pain for this girl.  She and I have had many sleepless nights because of them.  I hate to say its only just begun in the teething department.
Maddie has taken a few steps at a time before her first birthday but has since then decided to take up to 10 steps.  She is standing up on her own and bending down to pick things up off the floor.  She is still a super fast crawler and is into everything.  She especially loves her brothers toys.
Maddie can say mama, dada, bubba, bye bye and as of today pop pop.  She likes to wave bye-bye and clap her hands.  This month she has started dancing.  this consists of her holding on to something and bobbing her head.  It is possibly the sweetest thing I've ever seen.

Maddie is still not sleeping through the night and I'm convinced its some how my fault.  I can't stand to hear my baby crying and I fear she is going to wake up Mason, so I go to her soon after she starts crying.  I have got to figure a way to get her to sleep better.  Also the past couple of weeks she has wanted to be rocked to sleep.  I enjoy rocking her but I know this is hindering the sleep training.  I hope by next month it will be a different story in the sleep department.
Maddie is showing her personality so much these days.  She may not say very many words, but she sure knows how to get her point across.  She is very much a momma's girl but is also quite smitten by her daddy at times.  She absolutely adores her brother as well.

Although I haven't got much sleep the past year, I don't regret one sleepless night with this sweet baby girl.  She is such a joy to us and I can't wait to see what the next year holds for her as she becomes more verbal and mobile.  I love this little girl so much!!  She makes my heart so happy!!!
